About
First of all, I don’t want you to think I am proclaiming myself to be The Green Samaritan. I’ve read what seems like a million tips and articles, and have tried out a multitude of recipes and products. And as my desire to learn for the benefit of my family continues, coupled with a passion to share, The Green Samaritan is simply about being kinder to your environment through refined, renewed and resourceful living.
Everyday, I’m a busy, mainstream mom of two boys – Jack (10) and Ben (7), wife, community volunteer now working from home after many years in the world of corporate sales and marketing. I serve on the Board of Trustees for our local Natural Science Center as well as on the Environmental Stewardship Commission at my church.
I decided to start this site after thinking about the story of The Good Samaritan and what that might look like with an environmental twist. A hosted blog on WordPress lead to my self-hosted blog here. Requests to speak to community groups and schools began to sprout and opportunitites to contribute to other sites like Greenopolis, Modern Hippie Mag and Seek The Triad were received. I hope to someday start a foundation where TGS can help support promising groups and efforts to help make our world a better place too.
So in the meantime, The Green Samaritan will be sprinkled with a little greenness, a little goodness and a little of whatever else may come up to help inspire refined, renewed and resourceful living in everyday, mainstream life.
