With warm weather approaching, the yard sale signs will start to sprout giving my Saturday mornings new life. Therefore my Monday post will feature my yard sale/thrift store/second-hand shop and even crazy curbside pick ups in this new series, “Thrill of the Hunt – Treasure of the Week”. In some cases I might uncover some things so fantastic or something that is so interesting for another use, I just might put up for bid on Ebay so make sure you check in each week.
To kick things off, I’m highlighting a great little find from a past excursion.
I found this small (2 1/2″ x 3″) Waterford crystal clock in a yard sale in Orlando several years ago. This classic little
clock was sitting in the midst of several mismatched items. When I was told the price of $1.00 because it “didn’t work”, my reply was an automatic “I’ll take it”. All it needed was a fresh battery and a little clean up. So don’t be too quick to judge the potential value or beauty of an item. At the time, a similar clock brand new retailed for around $99.00. It’s been keeping perfect time since. (Sorry but this one is here to stay!)
Remember “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” so check back in or subscribe to see what we uncover next! Plus tell us about one of your great finds or what you might be looking for…you never know!
