I always enjoy learning more about what individuals, groups and businesses are doing to make our world a better place. So when this philanthropic organization reached out to me to help spread the word, I was intrigued.
Never stop learning™ - This is one of the signature pillars of explore.org. Founded by Charles Annenberg Weingarten, explore is a multimedia organization that documents leaders around the world who have devoted their lives to extraordinary causes. “Both educational and inspirational, explore creates a portal into the soul of humanity by championing the selfless acts of others.”
The topics range from health and human services, poverty, animal rights, the environment and spiritualit
y. Best of all, many of the individuals or groups featured in the films receive funding in the form of grants from The Annenberg Foundation. Over 15 million dollars has been awarded to over 100 non-profit groups.
You can get involved by joining in their discussion board where questions are posed by the explore team, connecting with others or giving advice on travel, film-making or philanthropy.
And if you are a filmmaker, there is still time to enter the explore/Hatch film competition to be held in Asheville, NC in April. Deadline for entries is March 25th and the winner will be flown to Asheville to receive the award by the explore founder himself.
Watch “What is explore?” to learn more about their overall efforts. And in honor of National Wildlife Week check this quick clip from the explore team.
