America Recycles Day – Sunday, November 15th

November 11, 2009

Recognized every November 15th, America Recycles Day is the only national day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products. Celebrating its 12th year, it has grown to include millions of Americans pledging to increase their recycling habits aARDt home and work and to buy products made with recycled materials. Through America Recycles Day, Keep America Beautiful, Inc. (KAB) and the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) support local communities and raises awareness by educating citizens about the benefits of recycling.

So what can you do to increase or enhance your recycling efforts?  Take the ARD pledge here and commit to activities such as knowing what materials you can and cannot recycle in your community, leading by example, recycling all e-waste and sharing with five or more friends the benefits of recycling.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, Trash or Treasure – 8 Tips for Making the Best Choice, most everything can be recycled or reused.  Take time this week to think about what you can do to improve your efforts.  And remember while the choice is yours the outcome will belong to everyone.
